Ask your child to sing you the continent song! They are awesome at it! It goes like this:
Europe, Asia, North and South America, Africa, Australia, and Antarctica. These are the seven continents of the world and we live in Idaho in North America!
Along with that, an important thing you might
help your student learn is the idea of:
Continent, country, state, city
Include examples in your conversation, then quiz them on the concept. For example, we live on the North American continent, in the United States of America, in the state of Idaho, in the city of Nampa. Once they understand this, branch out and teach them more about our world including other continents, countries, states (provinces, departments, etc), and cities! They love geography!
